Welcome to the Hidden Bakery! A micro artisan bakery. We’re delighted you’ve found us.

Heidi spent four years at Clarendon College in Nottingham learning all about the hospitality business and in her spare time trained as a chef. She has worked in popular hotels in the lake district and at Stapleford Park in Melton Mowbray.

She started her first restaurant and outside catering business *the orchard pantry*  in Ruddington at the age of 22, specialising in traditional english cuisine. Eight years later she decided to sell her business and re-train, studying for an MBA, winding her way to working at the University of Nottingham.

Fast track 16 years later and Heidi decided to go back to her first love, food and artisan products. She spent some time learning about bread at the School of Artisan Food at the Welbeck Estate, and Voila the Hidden Bakery was born. Mashing together all the things she loves and hopes you will also come to love.

Heidi says…

We aim to bring real homebaking back to the community, using the best organic ingredients where possible to make our real artisan bread, delicious cakes, tarts, biscuits and all things baked.

Our bread is made slowly from the best organic ingredients and natural yeast (we use shipton mill flour). We shape, score and bake all the loaves by hand. Our bread takes time and the result is bread that’s delicious with a great crust and a lovely taste.  We don’t use any nasties- additives or improvers, sugar or fats  in any of our loaves (well only butter in our brioche).

You can pre-order our goodies to collect on Saturday or  Sunday morning. You can also find our goodies at the Lawrence Tearoom at Durban House in Eastwood six days a week (including a range to buy and take home) or at a local market.

I hope you enjoy your visit with us. We look forward to meeting you…
